# Why is physical activity important for child development?

## Physical activity is important to your child's development as it can encourage a healthy lifestyle, grow social skills, and improve focus.

Physical activity is crucial for a child's personal development for several reasons.

Firstly, physical activity can inspire children to develop a healthy, active lifestyle. This lifestyle is not only beneficial to their physical health but is also proven to benefit mental health.

Through taking part in a range of physical activities, children are able to learn a range of social skills that will help them throughout their education, and into adult life. This includes growing confidence and interacting with others.

Studies have shown time and time again that children who participate in physical activity are able to stay more focussed during lessons. This ability to focus is important for their personal and academic development.
